WTC Shanghai and WTC Jiaxing visit WTC Las Vegas

Nov 15, 2013

There are thousands of business delegates at the Las Vegas Convention and World Trade Center on any given day. With each trade show, convention, or expo comes a different crowd, all with the same goal of growing their business, networking, and learning new secrets to success. Recently, Yanran Li, Chairman of the World Trade Center Shanghai and Mengxing Li, Chairman of the World Trade Center Jiaxing visited the Las Vegas Convention and World Trade Center. Instead of joining a convention, they attended a private presentation by Hugh Sinnock, vice president of customer experience for the Las Vegas Convention and Visitors Authority (LVCVA), to learn how the LVCVA operates.

“Las Vegas is globally recognized as the gold standard in this field,” said Sinnock. “Key players in government or in the travel industry come to the Las Vegas Convention and World Trade Center to witness first-hand the customer service, the unmatched hospitality and our commitment as a serious business destination. We are especially happy to meet with fellow WTC members to answer questions and share our knowledge, because that helps build our international relationships.”

The chairmen, along with other dignitaries, were on a fact-finding mission, gaining insight on how Las Vegas was able to navigate through an economic downturn and end 2012 with a record-breaking visitor volume of nearly 40 million people. The Shanghai and Jiaxing representatives were interested to learn the LVCVA operates 13 international offices, including one in Shanghai. LVCVA’s international offices market the Las Vegas brand overseas and helped attract approximately 7 million international visitors to the city last year. As World Trade Center representatives, these Chinese dignitaries were especially interested in the developing plans for the Las Vegas Global Business District, which will further the LVCVA’s mission to expand worldwide business opportunities. The World Trade Center Las Vegas is an integral part of plans for the Las Vegas Global Business District.

Coming up soon, more than 150 countries will be represented as the Las Vegas Convention and World Trade Center welcomes the 2014 International CES (CES)® , January 7-10, 2014.
