Oct 29, 2019

On September 26, 2019, World Trade Center – Kansas City hosted America’s foremost Incoterms® authority, Frank Reynolds, for an all-day seminar on the upcoming 2020 Incoterms® revisions. The new revisions will go into force on January 1, 2020 and marks the ninth update since their 1936 inception. This revision also marks the first time the International Chamber of Commerce (ICC) Drafting Group included experts from Australia, China, and Turkey.

During the seminar attendees learned about the proposed revisions including the complete makeover of the seller-buyer obligation matching column, insurance coverage, security compliance, and other important changes. Attendees also walked away with copies of the official Incoterms® 2020 book and Mr. Reynold’s companion book, Incoterms® for Americans®.

Mr. Reynolds represented the United States during the 2020 Incoterms® revision, bringing over 50 years of international trade experience to the table. He also participated in both the 2000 and 2010 revisions. Frank has served on the U.S. Department of Commerce District Export Council thirteen times and operates a full-service trading and consulting firm. He has several update seminars scheduled through the end of the year. A full calendar list is accessible through his website: https://www.incoterms-for-americans.com/.

This event was co-hosted in conjunction with our community partners the International Trade Council of Kansas City and the Greater Kansas City Foreign Trade Zone.
