The World Trade Center – Kansas City sponsored and participated in Discover Global Markets: Design + Construct, the U.S. Department of Commerce’s flagship event series for U.S. exporters. From April 30th to May 2nd, the WTC – KC met with visiting U.S. Commercial Diplomats, foreign groups from over 16 countries and U.S. project owners and developers. 

The conference was focused on international business opportunities and challenges specific to design and construct while also covering widespread trade topics. As Kansas City is home to a cluster of engineering and construction companies, it was a great place to bring the international community to share knowledge and create lasting relationships.

Discover Global Markets was an important event for the World Trade Center – Kansas City to network with public and private sector experts from all over the world in a common effort to build international relationships. The industries related to design and construct branched far beyond engineering, architectural and construction firms; Discover Global Markets offered discussions on transportation, housing, healthcare, energy, sports and more. As these industries affect life in all countries, there were conversations ranging from public private partnerships in developing nations to building the most modern and luxurious sports complexes.

The event brought the Kansas City international business and the international design and construct communities together for enhanced collaboration. It was a great display of the culture and business attraction of Kansas City helping to build international bridges from the heart of the United States.
