WORLD’S THIRD BIGGEST RAILWAY EXHIBITION: EURASIA RAIL
Istanbul Expo Center (IFM) hosted on 07-09 March 2013 the world’s third biggest exhibition in its field, Eurasia Railway, Rolling Stock, Infrastructure and Logistics Exhibition. At the exhibition were more than 25 thousand professional visitors and 287 companies from 25 countries.

At the exhibition TCDD (Turkish State Railways) and its subsidiary corporations including TÃœVASAÅž (Turkish Wagon Industry Inc.), TÃœDEMSAÅž (Turkish Railway Machines Industry Inc.), and TÃœLOMSAÅž (Turkish Locomotive and Engine Industry Inc.) were present innovations related to wagons of the Turkish railways, locomotives, railway technologies produced by the local manufactures within the railway sector. 

The official opening ceremony of 3rd Eurasia Railway Exhibition was made by Mr. Binali Yıldırım, Turkish Minister of Transport, Maritime Affairs and Communications with Mr. Mario Garces, Undersecretary from Ministry of Transport in Spain.
Among other ministers that attended the exhibition were:
• Benoit Schmitt, Executive Director for Europe & Africa of Deutsche Bahn from Germany
• Vaselin Vasilev, General Director of Railway Administration Executive Agency from Bulgaria,
• Rafie Yousif Abbas, General Director of Iraq State Railways,
• Enis Berisha, General Director of Kosovo Railway Regulatory Authority,
• Jerry Kleniewski, Counsellor to the Minister of Poland Ministry of Transport,
• Arion Adrian, General Director of Romania State Railways
• and many other burocrats from Ministries of Transport and State Railways from neighboring countries.
Many industry giants from Turkey and worldwide attended the exhibition including SIEMENS, ALSTOM, BOMBARDIER, VOSSLOH, THALES, CAF, TALGO, KNORR BREMSE, WEBASTO, VOITH TURBO, SAVRONIK, KARDEMÄ°R, GENERAL ELECTRIC TRANSPORTATION, ULAÅžIM AÅž, HYUNDAI ROTEM, ABB next to national pavilion participation from Germany, the United Kingdom, Czech Republic, Russian Federation, Republic of China and Poland.
The Durmazlar Company, which in the last year for the first time was presented to the world press for its own manufactured tramway Silkworm, Turkey’s first 100 % local product was exhibited at the Eurasia Rail Exhibition. Hyundai Rotem Company was also present for the first time the wagons that will be used for carrying passengers within the MARMARAY project. Siemens Company displayed its products and solutions not only for the manufacturing of vehicles but also signaling and electrification solutions.
In comparison with the first edition of the Eurasia Rail Exhibition, this year, the number of participants increased by 40 %, with 287 companies, among them, 117 were Turkish companies and 170 were international.

Eurasia Rail Exhibition, which is supported by the Turkish Ministry of Transport, Maritime Affairs and Communications and Turkish Railways (TCDD), in June 2012, received the approval of UFI (The Global Association of the Exhibition Industry).
