Tappi Nano Record Attendance in Grenoble, FRANCE

GRENOBLE, FRANCE - Tappi’s 11th International Conference on Nanothechnology for renewable Materials had been held at the World Trade Center Grenoble in France, from June 13th to June 16th 2016. This annual event was filled with high level technical presentations, workshops, tours, networking events and exhibits. It drew more than 300 attendees from 25 different countries, which is a record, among which scientists, researchers, educators, students and industry professionals. The conference featured more than 130 presentations on cellulose nanocrystals (CNC), cellulose nanofibrils (CNF), and microfibrillated cellulose (MFC) research and development, functionalization, manufacturing, markets and applications.

Grenoble, the city often called “Capital of the French Alpes” had been chosen for the Tappi’s conference because it is a scientific hub unlike any another in the world (129 univertisy laboratories, 9 national research bodies , 5 major international instruments –ESRF, ILL, EMBL, GHMFL and IRAM – and 3 competitive center – Minalogic, Tenerrdis, Axelera). During the Conference, the visit of 2 Global Centers of Excellence had been organized : Tec 21 and Institute Carnot PolyNat. Thank to its dynamic economy linked to research, and all the business tourism infrastructures, Grenoble, appeared to be the perfect place for an event based on nanotechnologies.

Tappi Nano 2016 was a great success concerning contents, continuity, and participation according to the organizers, and WTC Grenoble Team was glad to welcome this international event, offer the equipments of our convention center and our help to contribute to this success!
