WTCGoa hosts Int'l Business Opportunities with ADB

GOA, INDIA - WTC Goa in association with Goa Chamber of Commerce & Industry organised a workshop on International Business Opportunities with Asian Development Bank on Feb 12, 2016 at GCCI hall, Panjim. Goan MSME s from various sectors like Pharma, Mining and Automobile etc. attended the event.

Mr. Hiroyuki Maruyama, Procurement Specialist, Asian Development Bank mentioned that India is the fourth largest shareholder of ADB. He also stated the current borrowing of India is for 85 loans valuing around $11,413.2 million and the new loans approved for 2015 are valued at $ 420 millions. The loans are disbursed to various industrial sectors, out of 85 loans more than 25% is provided to the Urban and Energy sectors and the rest is to other sectors like transport, agriculture and education etc. He also elaborated on the Procurement Guidelines and Shortlist procedure for the MSMEs, Associates, Sub-contractors and Joint Ventures. Goan Manufacturing sectors including the Pharmaceutical, Mining, Tourism and Consulting Services in the Financial domains etc. must access ADB's wealth of opportunities encouraged Maruyama.

Mr. Manguirish Pai Raiker, Advisor, WTC Goa mentioned that the Goan MSME industry needs to take advantage of all the available opportunities in the market. "ADB and United Nations Procurement Division are some of them", he said.

Ms Ambika Dhakhenkar, Asst. Mgr, WTC Goa presented the welcome address by introducing WTC Goa and its activities to the participants. "WTC Goa's journey so far has been very successful and received a very good response from local as well as neighboring regions of Goa" she said.

Mr. R S Kamat, DG, GCCI congratulated WTC Goa for organizing events to promote trade related activities in the state, while presenting the vote of thanks to the esteemed speaker, participants and media friends.
