WTC Goa organizes Market Development Prog. Africa

WTC Goa organized a “Market Development Program-Africa” on 28th August 2019, at EDC House, Pajim. With an objective to help the exporters and manufacturers of Goa to have an in-depth understanding of the mesmerizing continent of Africa
Dr. Sunil Modi, President, India Africa Alliance and President of Modi industries, better known as biography of Africa and who has spent close to 40 years in the African continent conducted this program with two exclusive sessions namely knowing Africa and Export procedure. 

Africa is home to over half a dozen of the fastest growing countries of this decade and it's collective GDP is expected to touch US $3.6 million by 2020. This combined with the fact that the middle class continues to boost consumption, construction and private investment, propelling consumers spending that is expected to touch US $1.4 trillion by 2020 thus opening vast opportunities for promoting and expanding exports in this continent.

Topics like, Understanding mindset of people of Africa, How to do business in Africa, Knowing Africa as whole, How to market yourself in Africa, a fresh look at challenge and opportunities in African continent, Details of 55 nations in Africa, explaining what are their important commodities of import were some of the topics covered in the segment" knowing Africa."

On "Export Procedure", Dr. Sunil Modi, covered topics like requirements for doing export business, export documentation procedure, tips and formulas for success and undisclosed facts of Africa, etc.

Dr. Modi opined that most of our goods and services will sell very well in the African market as Africa at the moment, has a very limited manufacturing base and they look to Indian goods and services to be of very good value for money, thus presenting to us a vast continent that is ready to accept our goods and services.

Mr. Saurabh Jain, Cluster Sales Manager - SBI General Insurance gave a presentation on the Insurance products from SBI General Insurance that would greatly benefit the exporting community.

An open house and Q & A session was organized. Mr. Cyril Desouza, Asst. Director Trade Promotion, in his closing remarks, threw light on the network of World Trade Center’s Association and how exporters could benefit by the presence of its members through 330 World Trade Centers present in almost 100 countries throughout the Globe.
