UNDERSTANDING NUANCES OF EXPORT MARKETING

GOA, INDIA - World Trade Centre Goa in association with Karnatak Chamber of Commerce & Industries organized a workshop on “Export Marketing Strategy” at Hubli on 25th February 2016. While delivering the key note address Mr. B. A. Coutino, former Additional Secretary, KCC&I highlighted the importance of export marketing and reminded about the cultural difference that play a major role in export. It is important to know whom we are selling and what we are selling. Export is not selling the product. It is about the country image we carry while we engage in exporting our products or services abroad. Quality is a major aspect in this connection. By narrating his own experience in foreign countries he encouraged the audience that Indian products are preferred in foreign countries now and we need to make use of this opportunity.

Mr. Arvind Khedkar, International Market Expert and faculty of WTC Mumbai, took an elaborated session on International Marketing and motivated the participants to take up the challenge as export market is much rewarding than the domestic sales. Question answer session was again a rich experience to the participants to understand more deep on the marketing strategy for their products.

Earlier Shri Ramesh Patil, President welcomed the guests and highlighted the importance of understanding the various facets export marketing to achieve a good stand in the global market place. Mrs. Audry D’souza, Regional Director, Indo German Chamber of Commerce in Bangalore made a presentation on steps to enter German market and services offered at IGCC. She also highlighted the three major aspects in International marketing - the quality in product, quality in services and certification.

Mr. A. O. Kuruvila, Advisor-Trade & education elaborated on the concept of WTC and encouraged how members can make use of the services and facilities to connect to the global market.

Around 80 participants attended the programme. A “Memorandum of Understanding” (MoU) between WTC Mumbai and KCC&I was signed during the programme.
