July 4, 2016

A mover, a shaker, a difference maker: Edmonton Chamber of Commerce (License holder of WTC Edmonton) President and CEO Janet Riopel is all of these and more. Now she adds “Most Influential” in Alberta to her list of accomplishments.

In naming Riopel to their 2016 list of Alberta’s 50 Most Influential People, Alberta Venture magazine celebrates Riopel’s professional and personal accomplishments, both of which have left a positive impression on Alberta's political, economic and cultural landscape.

“Under Janet’s leadership, the Edmonton Chamber of Commerce has moved from strength to strength in 2016,” said Bill Blais, Chair of the Edmonton Chamber Board. “A string of high-profile, sold-out events and significant progress across several key policy initiatives are testament to her diligence and the influence of the largest Chamber in Canada, with 2,430 member companies representing over 164,000 employees.”

“This accomplishment is a strong and positive endorsement of the enduring ability of the Edmonton Chamber to foster the best environment for business in Edmonton,” said Riopel. “It is the tireless efforts of our Board of Directors, our committee volunteers, our Chamber team, and most importantly, our dedicated members, that make that lofty goal achievable. This recognition is shared by all of us.”
