An online session ‘How to Choose the Right Valuation Methodology for your Company?’ was conducted in association with Indian Institute of Materials Management Bangalore Chapter. Mr. Sreejith Kuniyil, Founder & Director, Capitaire Consultants LLP was the speaker.

Mr. Sreejith described the various situations in which the need for company valuation arises. He gave examples of probable concerns that arises from various stakeholders like – promoters, investors, income tax department, ministry of corporate affairs and the RBI. He explained the various valuation approaches and methodologies. Mr. Sreejith used a few case studies to describe the challenges faced by companies during valuation and the steps taken to resolve it. He listed the various penal actions and provisions taken in case of misappropriation/ misreporting. He also shared the regulation criteria for issue of shares with regards to Income Tax Act, 1961; Companies Act, 2013; Foreign Exchange Management Act, 1999.
