WTC BDNC & WTC TACOMA: LOGISTICS CONFERENCE 2022

The US trade promotion conference in logistics 2022, co-chaired by World Trade Center Binh Duong New City (WTC BDNC), World Trade Center Tacoma (WTCTA) and Binh Duong Industry & Trade Department, took place at Binh Duong Convention and Exhibition Center (BCEC) on the morning of October 28. The conference was held in the form of direct and online integration with the participation of enterprises, universities, seaports from Tacoma city in the US and industries’ associations in the province.

At the conference, delegates discussed the current export situation in the country as well as in the world, identified challenges and proposed solutions to remove them. They said that the world has witnessed many changes since the Covid-19 pandemic. Cross-border e-commerce is a trend, a way for US enterprises to access the Vietnamese market and vice versa.

Sharing about the transportation, circulation and export and import of goods through seaports to the US market, John McCarthy – the Managing Director of Tacoma Port, affirmed that the goods imported from Vietnam will certainly increase more strongly in the coming time as the US investors and businesses realize the potential and production capacity of Vietnam.

Nguyen Thanh Toan – Director of Binh Duong Industry & Trade Department, emphasized that with the advantage of being a developed industrial province and one of the leading localities in the country in terms of foreign investment, Binh Duong is a fertile land for businesses to invest and exploit logistics services with the system of warehouses and means of transport being continuously newly invested, expanded and upgraded to basically meet the requirements of domestic and foreign goods circulation of enterprises.

On the afternoon of the same day, delegates had a field trip to Binh Duong port and ICD TBS Tan Van, helping US businesses understand more about the local logistics industry.
