WTC Bhubaneswar partners @ IT Conclave 2018

IT Conclave 2018 was organized by IT Association of Odisha (ITAO) in association with World Trade Centre Bhubaneswar. The unique and exclusive one day Conclave was focused on ‘Smart City Smart Link’ and boosted the linkage between the major IT sector players and the Smart City Bhubaneswar Authority along with various Departments of Govt. of Odisha for a joint endeavour in future days.

“Using the benefits of Information Technology in everyday life is now a common phenomenon. We want to develop a dynamic IT ecosystem for the robust use of IT solutions in public delivery and other infrastructure development in our Smart City Bhubaneswar and also across the state” said Mr. Ashok K. Meena, I.A.S, Principal Secretary, Electronics & Information Technology Department, Government of Odisha. This he said while delivering the inaugural address at the Conclave as Chief Guest. “Great changes are taking place in IT Sector covering the entire world. The Start Ups and Entrepreneurs, the local talents need to scale up their innovations with home grown solutions by embedding themselves with IT majors” he added.

“Technology is to ease daily life of millions of people across the world. And we are in a time when the entire paradigm is changing towards an affordable and smarter lifestyle with new generation IT solutions. We don’t need too many people to build smart systems, we need new ways to do them” mentioned Dan Mishra, Chairman, CSDC Systems, USA.

Guest of Honour Mr. Priyadarshi Mishra, Member of Legislative Assembly Bhubaneswar North, said “owing to the easy accessibility and the wide range of IT products available, the demand for IT services has increased in the state and the country substantially over the years. The IT sector here has emerged as a major source of both growth and employment.”

Dr. Omkar Rai, DG STPI, Govt. of India stressed that technology should be made affordable to make it accessible to all the consumers. “Augmented Reality (AR) and Virtual Reality (VR) technologies should be made available at a lower cost to develop indigenous technology. We are working with the local and National Govt. to implement a 22 crore project for an IT & Electronics centre in Odisha. IT is good to see ITAO working in tandem to fulfil the growth of IT & Electronics sector” he further said.

The daylong event demonstrated the presentations on innovative and connected products, smart solutions and interface on leveraging functional and useful IT tools by major IT companies, Start Ups and entrepreneurs.

The conclave was held at Hotel Swosti Premium in Bhubaneswar on February 20, 2018
