Workshop on “Entrepreneurship & Export Business”

BHUBANESWAR, INDIA - World Trade Centre Bhubaneswar organized a workshop on “Entrepreneurship & Export Business” in association with the Balasore Chamber of industries & Commerce (BCIC) and Entrepreneurship Development of Institute of India at Balasore on 22nd September 15. It was the first program organized by WTC in Balasore known as the plastic and rice cluster of Odisha. BCIC invited their members to interact with the experts from EDII, WTC and IDBI Bank on entrepreneurship, export business and export finance.

Mr. Himanshu Das, President of BCIC in his welcome address encouraged the members of the chamber to take full advantage of this workshop.

Mr. Bishnu Prasad Panda, assistant faculty from Entrepreneurship Development Institute of India, spoke on the importance and charms of becoming an entrepreneur and on the process and steps involved in starting a small enterprise. 

Mr. Ashish Khandelwal, location head, Transaction Banking Group IDBI Bank Bhubaneswar deliberated on the subject of Export Finance and brought various schemes of the bank available for the exporters to take advantage from. He also focused on the concept of export finance and explained various advantages available to the exporters from the bank. 

Mr. A.O. Kuruvila, Deputy Director, World Trade Centre Mumbai, earlier portrayed the global export scenario and India’s position in the world market. He highlighted the export import trend of products and markets where India has a competitive advantage. He also explained in detail the various steps and agencies involved in starting an export import business. He shared the trends in exports of rice as well as plastics and explained the global market available for these products and encouraged the business man to take the steps with the help of the World Trade Centre to enter the global business.

The chamber also invited WTC Bhubaneswar to participate in the Balasore Trade Fair and organize workshop to sensitize the entrepreneurs at Balasore.
