Session on Engineering Exports

WTC Bhubaneswar under the export facilitation cell initiatives organized a session on engineering exports from Odisha the way forward. 

Odisha is known for its mineral resources, including iron ore, coal, and bauxite, which contribute to the state's industrial development. The engineering sector in Odisha primarily focuses on areas such as steel production, power generation, and infrastructure development. Steel and steel products form a significant portion of Odisha's engineering goods exports. The state is home to major steel plants, including the Rourkela Steel Plant, which is operated by Steel Authority of India Limited (SAIL). These steel plants produce various steel products, including flat products like plates and sheets, long products like bars and rods, and value-added products like pipes and tubes, which can be exported. Apart from steel, Odisha's engineering sector also includes industries related to power generation, such as thermal power plants and renewable energy projects. The state has been focusing on the development of renewable energy sources like wind and solar power, which may contribute to the engineering goods exports in the form of power equipment and components.
The session was held on Wednesday , 28th June, 2023  at  10 a.m . at  Conference Hall, 5th Floor, IDCO Tower, Janpath, Bhubaneswar .

World Trade Center Bhubaneswar in association with Department of MSME, Government of Odisha and Directorate of Export Promotion & Marketing, Government of Odisha and Engineering Export Promotion Council India organied a Session on “ Engineering  Goods Exports  ” .  The meeting was chaired by Shri. Saswat Mishra, IAS, Principal Secretary, Department of Micro, Small & Medium Enterprises, Government of Odisha. He was also be joined by the Special Secretary to Government of Odisha MSME Department and other senior officials. 

Officials from Engineering Export Promotion Council of India shall also joined the session o make a detailed presentation on the role of the council and the support extended by them to the MSMEs who want to venture  into exports of engineering products.  

Industry representations by members of Association of Industrial Entrepreneurs of Bhubaneswar, Rourkela Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Odisha Small Scale Industries Association made the session very interactive and engaging one.Â
