Participation in Raja Festival 2023

Raja Paraba is a three day unique festival celebrated across Odisha in which the onset of monsoon and womanhood is celebrated by the state. It is believed that during this period, the mother earth undergoes menstruation. The festival marks the onset of the agricultural season and all the agricultural activities are put on a halt with a purview to let the mother earth rest.

World Trade Center Bhubaneswar associated with Department of Odia Language, Literature & Culture, Government of Odisha to conduct two-day celebration on the occasion of Raja Festival 2023. The initiative provided a platform to gather and indulge in various rituals and cultural practices of the state during the festivities.

The program witnessed a spread of authentic Odia delicacies, cultural programs highlighting the history and culture of the state etc. Various dance troupes also showcased dance performances, games and swings were also part of the program which added to the cultural extravaganza. While giving due importance & trying to create an effective cultural as well as social impact, the two-day activity involved entrepreneurs to put up their stalls with their unique range of products by the women entrepreneurs of WTC Bhubaneswar where they showcased various indigenous products like Odisha Handloom, Handicrafts, Odia delicacies like pithas (traditional cakes) and sweet dishes, millet based products, handcrafted eco-friendly jewellery etc.

The program was graced by the presence of esteemed dignitaries Shri. Aswini Kumar Patra, Hon’ble State Minister – Ind. Charge, Department of Excise, Government of Odisha; Shri. Pradeep Kumar Jena, IAS, Chief Secretary, Department of General Administration & Public Grievance, Government of Odisha; Shri. Satyabarata Sahu, IAS, Additional Chief Secretary, Revenue & Disaster Management Department, Government of Odisha; Shri. Lenin Mohanty, Chairman, OTDC; Smt. Suchismita Mantry, Deputy Director, Department of Odia Language, Literature & Culture, Government of Odisha and Dr. Rina Routray, Chairperson, Mahila Atmanirbhar Abhiyan and Advisor, WTC Bhubaneswar Women Forum. The program was also graced by other senior government officials of the state.

The program was conducted on 14th & 15th June, 2023 at Bhanja Kala Mandap, Bhubaneswar.
