Exhibition by Women Entrepreneurs

World Trade Center Bhubaneswar organized an exhibition under its Women Forum exclusively by women entrepreneurs. More than 30 exhibitors actively participated in the exhibition.

Mrs. Jyoshna Das, Convener, Women Forum in her address spoke about the vision of the Women Forum of World Trade Center Bhubaneswar. She shared that the objective of the session to primarily provide for marketing & promotion platform for the women who are involved in micro businesses. She further stated that such forums actually help the exhibitors to open up and speak about their products to the prospective customers there by enhance their market outlook, understanding & communication capacities.

Mrs. Latika Pradhan, Member of Legislative Assembly lauded WTC for the initiative and appreciated the work being done by the women entrepreneurs. She further encouraged for more such platforms to be organized also involving rural women and help them connect to the urban entrepreneurs and the markets.

Dr. Rina Routray, Eminent Gandhian Social Worker in her address spoke about the various initiatives being taken by Governments both at the State & the Central level under the vision of women empowerment. She deliberated that empowering women by making them financial independent is one of the major focus areas for which encouraging women in entrepreneurship is highly essential. She further emphasized on the need to break the social taboo against women in micro & small businesses and help them gain due respect & status in the society as well as provide for a platform for them to portray their potential skill strengths and qualities. She also opined for more such initiatives to be undertaken in order to provide effective market linkage and encouragement to the women entrepreneurs.

The two day exhibition witnessed display of various unique and traditional products of Odisha and received highly encouraging response from the more than thousand visitors.
