Montana Officials Conduct Japan Trade Mission

Brigitta Miranda-Freer, Executive Director, with Montana World Trade Center, along with other Montana state and local officials, traveled to Kumamoto, Japan, to celebrate the Montana-Kumamoto Sister State's 40th Anniversary.

In addition, the Montana delegation held business meetings with Japanese firms in Kumamoto, Osaka, and Tokyo, to discuss foreign direct investment opportunities and potential R&D collaborations in Montana.  Japanese officials then traveled to Montana to continue celebrations and business discussions in November.  Montana exported $2.0 billion in goods to foreign markets in 2021 with an estimated 80% of total U.S. wheat exports to Japan emanating from Montana.Â
