This webinar will provide participants with: 

  • How to plan and maximize your trade mission experience from pre-trip planning to post-trip follow-ups and the steps you must take to generate solid leads 
  • A business owner’s first-hand experience with trade missions, including the support received, the challenges encountered and the benefits reaped 
  • Best practices on how to maximize: 
    • One-to-one meetings
    • Networking events with guests from local industry multipliers including chambers of commerce, associations and business councils influential in the business community 
    • Briefings and roundtables with the legal and business community on local business practices and opportunities
    • Site visits to local facilities where your technologies/services may be applied
    • How to target prospect companies (how to recruit) 
  • “Certify Trade Mission” program

Hosted by the U.S. Department of Commerce's International Trade Administration and the World Trade Centers Association, the "Make Trade Work" webinar series is a joint initiative to help educate and increase global trade and investment opportunities. The "Planning and Maximizing Trade Missions" webinar is the second of five webinars in the series hosted over the next year. 

This series also marks the first of many initiatives under the WTCA's partnership with the U.S. Commercial Service International Trade Administration. Under this partnership, WTCA Members and the broader WTCA network will gain access to numerous benefits, including best practices in international trade and investment, and support for those interested in non-U.S. entities to engage in foreign direct investment and those who want to do business in the United States or with U.S. businesses.
