Cortney Hurlock, Director, Strategic Partnerships, World Trade Center Northern California - Sacramento

Cortney Grekin joined the Northern California World Trade Center at the end of 2013 to launch the San Francisco office, which brings over 900 international leaders in business, government and academia to the Bay Area every year through the U.S. Department of State and privately funded programs to build connections to professional counterparts. A key function of her role is to develop and leverage strategic stakeholder partnerships with regional decision makers and innovators to strengthen foreign trade relationships and FDI opportunities. Most recently, she won a generous grant for the organization from the State Department’s Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs to host a regional diplomacy summit that explored northern California as a global epicenter of technology and innovation in agriculture, water, and energy. The full day event highlighted the importance of international policy and trade diplomacy for furthering economic development and global cooperation on the sustainable use of our shared resources. The summit brought together multiple global stakeholders and influencers, and included interactive panel sessions and high-level keynote speakers from the U.S. Department of State, the U.S. Department of Commerce, the U.S. Trade and Development Agency, Global Ties U.S., the Mayor of Oakland, and successful business leaders from the region.
