WTCKL Dr. Ibrahim Bags Two Awards During Pandemic

Nov 30, 2022

World Trade Centre Kuala Lumpur (WTCKL) Group Managing Director Datuk Seri Irmohizam Ibrahim has won the "Special Industry Recognition Award" and "Honorary Recognition of COVID-19 Front-Liners Award" for actively fighting for the struggling business events industry due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

The awards were presented during the Malaysian Association of Convention and Exhibition Organisers and Suppliers (MACEOS) 32nd Anniversary Gala Dinner and Industry Recognition Awards 2022 on Nov 25, 2022.

WTCKL responded to the call and helped the Malaysian government to become a Mega Vaccination Administration Centre (Mega PPV).

"This award recalls the valuable memories and experiences that WTCKL learned in responding to the Malaysian government's call to become a Mega PPV where AstraZeneca vaccines were administered to the public throughout its 150-day operation and provided more than 1.3 million doses of AstraZeneca vaccine injections.

"WTCKL collaborated with the Ministry of Health Malaysia, the Ministry of Science, Technology and Innovation, the COVID-19 Immunisation Task Force, the Malaysian Armed Forces, the Royal Malaysian Police, the People's Volunteer Corps and Malaysian Civil Defense under the National COVID-19 Immunisation Programme," said the statement.

These awards were also a recognition of Irmohizam's continuous efforts to champion the business events economy domestically and internationally as the Conferences and Exhibitions Chairman at the World Trade Centres Association headquartered in New York.

The recognition is expected to contribute to stimulating the economy and industrial activities and aggressively promote Malaysia to be known as one of the hubs of business events at the international level.

WTCKL Group Chief Executive Officer Yusri Junos also received the "Honorary Recognition of COVID-19 Front-Liners Award".
