WTCB partners event on Start In Odisha initiative

During this COVID-19 pandemic situation, it has been observed that several Odias who were settled in other states or countries for employment/ business opportunities are interested to come back to the state. It is in this effect that, Startup Odisha launched a 3-month long “Start In Odisha” campaign for the Pravasi (Migrant) Odias from the month of October 2020. The campaign aims to facilitate pre-incubation support, incorporation of the company, IPR filling, mentorship etc. for the interested & potential entrepreneurs. World Trade Center Bhubaneswar is an active partner to this initiative. 

Mr. Reghu G., IAS, Director of Industries & Chief Executive Officer of Institute of Entrepreneurship Development, Government of Odisha graced the session as the Chief Guest to the occasion and launched the campaign through the virtual platform. Relating entrepreneurship to innovation Mr. Raghu in his address identified this economically doomed period as the right period for innovations to happen. He further urged the Pravasi Odias to come forward assuring them support. 

Mr. Bhagavati, Incubation In-charge, Central Tool Room and Training Centre [CTTC], Bhubaneswar in his address appreciated Start-up Odisha for initiating this campaign. He spoke about the success stories of some of the start-ups from across the nation who stood as an example for the non residents Indians to come back and set up their enterprise in their own native place. He welcomed the campaign as a major step in improving the business ecosystem of the State and urged the Pravasi Odias to utilize this opportunity and take maximum advantage of it to begin their entrepreneurship journey.

Ms. Nimeshika Natarajan, Assistant Director, World Trade Center Bhubaneswar in her address congratulated Start-up Odisha for the campaign. She announced complete support and facilitation by World Trade Center Bhubaneswar to the pravasi odias who are keen to set up business in the State. She also spoke about the various initiatives taken by the Center so far to support the development of the MSME sector. She further emphasized on the role of World Trade Centers in the shaping the economic development of any region.

Mr. Prasanata Biswal, Evangelist, Start-up Odisha in his address spoke about the objective of the Pravasi Odias campaign. He highlighted that this particular campaign is designed in order to get the potential start-ups registered on a specific portal special designed for this purpose. He also sahred that Start-up intends to individually approach and try to provide facilitation to each of such potential entrepreneurs as per their specific requirements depending on their business ideas and also provide them with incubation. He further proposed the vote of thanks.
