WTCA hosted its 2025 Chinese-speaking Member Meeting and Training on May 21-22. Co-hosted by China World Trade Center (Beijing), the meeting gathered more than 40 delegates representing 20 World Trade Center businesses in the region. Mr. Luciano Montenegro de Menezes, the Vice Chair-Secretary of the WTCA Board of Directors, and Mr. Xiangren Wu, Vice Chairman of the China World Trade Center (CWTC) presented the meeting and made welcome remarks.
The meeting featured a keynote speech by Ambassador Mr. Jianchun Ma, President of China Society for World Trade Organization (WTO) Studies. Ambassador Ma shed light on the challenges and opportunities during a period of transition for international trade. Mr. Yuhong Wu, Deputy Director, Beijing International Services Trade Affairs Center elaborated on the upcoming China International Fair for Trade in Services (CIFTIS) and extended invitation for the audience to attend during September 10-14. Ms. Xiaoyuan Li, Chief Communication Office, WTC Osaka/Tokyo briefed the audience on the Expo 2025 Osaka and their collaborative programs with delegates from WTC global network.
The panel themed āInnovative Solutions in Competitive RE Marketā was conducted among senior executives from global RE consulting firms and major industry players including CBRE, China Central Palace Group, and China Overseas Commercial. The participants enjoyed the feast of thoughts from the panelists who shared insights and practices on topics of ESG, space renovation and innovative solutions to meet the constantly changing demands of clients in Chinaās competitive real estate market.
Mr. Scott Wang, WTCA Vice President, Asia Pacific, provided an overview of the WTCA network in the region, and made an analysis of the emerging types of WTC businesses such as industrial park, FTZ, logistics hub, as well as the WTC ecosystem-driven asset-light model etc. Regional Members also updated the audience with their recent programs, membership development, and space operation.
During the best practices sharing session, WTC Suzhou, WTC Haikou, WTC Sanya, and WTC Chongqing shared their innovative practices in brand building and promotion by integrating cultural and historical elements, offering services for Chinese enterprises to go global, and creating mobile app to empower e-commerce, among others. The meeting was closed by sharing and comments on the challenges and solutions proposed by participants.
The meeting also highlighted and promoted the 2025 WTCA Asia Pacific Conference (APC) hosted by WTC Mumbai during August 20-22.
