WTCA Co-hosted NA Roadshow of the 2022 CIFTIS

May 20, 2022

The World Trade Centers Association® (WTCA®) was pleased to partner with the Beijing International Trade in Services Center to co-host the North America Roadshow of the 2022 China International Fair for Trade in Services (CIFTIS) on Thursday, May 19 at 20:00-22:00 EDT / Friday, May 20 at 08:00-10:00 CST (Beijing Time). The virtual event attracted more than 150 participants from across North America, China and the rest of the world, including representatives from many WTCA members and their business communities.

Hosted by China’s Ministry of Commerce and Beijing Municipality — and supported by the WTO, OECD, UNCTAD, as well as other international organizations such as ITC, WIPO, WTPF and WTCA — CIFTIS is considered as one of the top three international trade shows in China focusing on a wide range of service industries and products. WTCA’s Executive Director-Business Development Mr. Robin van Puyenbroeck delivered opening remarks during the roadshow. Leaders and top executives from Beijing International Trade in Services Center and Beijing Capital Group Exhibition & Events Co., Ltd. introduced the main highlights of the upcoming 2022 CIFTIS, which is scheduled for early-September 2022, including a cloud-based exhibition platform designed to offer virtual access for foreign companies who might not be able to leverage the trade show platform otherwise. The roadshow also featured a case study on the International Philadelphia Airport organized by World Trade Center (WTC) Greater Philadelphia, as well as a panel discussion moderated by WTCA’s Vice President, Asia Pacific, Mr. Scott Wang with senior executives from Boston Consulting Group (BCG), GE Healthcare China, U.S. Information Technology Office (USITO) and Center for China and Globalization (CCG) to share their perspectives on the opportunities and challenges of the Chinese trade service market and how CIFTIS plays a role to facilitate connections.

“The WTCA is honored to have been a major international partner for CIFTIS since 2016. We have had the privilege to participate and work closely with the CIFTIS team to contribute to the growth and success of this important fair over the years. As one of the world’s largest comprehensive fairs for trade in services, CIFTIS offers an excellent access point to many of our WTC business members in the service industries. We are glad that we have the opportunity to introduce this platform for our members to leverage and reap benefits for their local communities,” said Mr. van Puyenbroeck.
