WTCA Chairman Ghazi Abu Nahl Attends B20 Summit

BEIJING, CHINA - Around 800 representatives from the renowned companies, business associations, international organizations and think tanks of G20 and guest countries gathered at The Business 20 Summit (B20) held in Hangzhou, China from September 3 to 4 to provide policy recommendations to the following G20 Summit from September 4 to 5. Mr. Ghazi Abu Nahl, the WTCA Chairman and Mr. Scott Wang, the WTCA Vice President - Asia Pacific, were invited by China Council for the Promotion of International Trade (CCPIT) to attend the Summit.

Centering on the key issues on global economic development and the major concerns of various parties, the 2016 Hangzhou B20 has aligned its work closely with the theme of the G20 Summit, focusing on such 6 priorities as financing growth, trade and investment, infrastructure, SME development, employment and anti-corruption and set up the relevant taskforces containing more than 500 members. Furthermore, it has organized 50-plus special workshops and an anti-corruption forum. Different from the past G20 summits, the E-Commerce development was highlighted in this year.

Based on consensuses garnered from various communities, 2016 Policy Recommendations provided by the B20 that consists of 20 policy recommendations and 76 specific measures laid solid foundation to the successful G20 Summit.

Mr. Ghazi Abu Nahl spoke highly of the Summit and believed that it would serve as an important reference for the G20 in improving global economic governance and spurring world economic growth. “It is a great honor for WTCA to attend the summit alongside other international commercial organizations and entrepreneurs. As one of the largest global network of international trade facilities and services, WTCA will be dedicated as much as ever to the expansion of global trade and investment and at the same time establish an exchange platform for trade and investment between Chinese and overseas corporations. ”

About B20: The Business 20 (B20) is a forum through which the private sector produces policy recommendations for the annual meeting of the Group of 20 (G20) leaders. It was first convened as business summit in Canada in 2010 and continued to play an important role in helping the G20 deliver meaningful outcomes ever since. This year is the first time for China as a host country to hold B20 and G20.
