WTCA affirms India’s position in Global Economy

NOIDA, INDIA - Mr. Scott Ferguson, the newly appointed CEO of World Trade Centers Association visited India; which was his first visit to the country after assuming the charge and mantle of WTCA. The visit was very significant as India is the fastest growing economy in the world and WTCs can play a key role in transforming India into a major economic power house. Mr. Ferguson during his stay visited the WTC Noida facility and met its key partners Viridian RED and Verbind in order to ascertain the burgeoning growth of the region and stellar role played by WTC Noida in accelerating the trade and business in the region. The facility is operating as a regional window of trade & commerce for international partners focusing on matchmaking opportunities and moving towards becoming a hub of IT/ITes and electronics sector.

Mr. Ferguson congratulated the team of WTC Noida and VERBIND, the trade services arm of WTC Noida, WTC GIFT CITY and WTC Chandigarh on their endeavor towards entrepreneurship and global business connect by becoming the first operational facility in north India, delivering its first two towers which are completely leased and hopes to see great results for the next phase as well.

Mr. Scott Wang, the Vice President of WTCA, Asia Pacific who also visited the premises, joined Mr. Ferguson in an interactive session with startups and entrepreneurs who are being offered various facilities for the growth of their business at the Accelerator Centre.

On 06th August 2016, WTC Noida in honor of the visiting CEO of WTCA Mr. Scott Ferguson and Mr. Scott Wang, VP, Asia Pacific, WTCA hosted a dinner along with an interactive session wherein views were shared by WTCA officials and the various channel partners who had gathered from different parts of the country. 

Mr. Scott Ferguson in his address explained the focus of WTCA in India and the potential it holds for being the driver of the global economy. He also expressed satisfaction on the various activities undertaken by VERBIND, the trade services arm of WTC Noida, WTC Chandigarh and WTC GIFT CITY and was of the view that some of the initiatives can be replicated by other World Trade Centers.

While addressing the business community, he mentioned ‘By being a business member/tenant/client here at WTC NOIDA facility, one gains access to introductions and connections in cities around the world. The facility acts as a Gateway for local business and provides them services through hub and spoke model of connected complexes.’

Further expressing his delight about the legislation brought by the Government for Real Estate sector, he added “Real Estate globally is seen as a key driver of economic growth and needs to be seen as beyond an asset class”, he congratulated Viridian RED on being one of the pioneers who is bringing this change through breakthrough concepts and connected ecosystems. 

Ms. Khair Ull Nissa, ED of VERBIND & WTC Noida offered her thanks to the WTCA officials and emphasized that the relationship between India and WTCA will further be bolstered and the achievements of WTC Noida and VERBIND are commemorative of the commitment which the organization holds in promotion of trade and business.
