WTC-Vancouver Prepares for Canada Connects

Jun 09, 2026

We’re excited to share that the Government of Canada is investing over $3.2 million in the Greater Vancouver Board of Trade and the World Trade Centre Vancouver to help B.C. businesses grow right here at home. This funding will support the launch of Canada Connects, a new initiative led by the World Trade Centre Vancouver to help local companies expand into markets across Canada.

Through Canada Connects, businesses will gain access to market insights, training, domestic trade missions, and expert advisory support, making it easier to connect with buyers, strengthen supply chains, and grow their presence nationwide. It’s all about giving B.C. companies the tools and connections they need to succeed in new regions.

As Minister Gregor Robertson shared, “British Columbia's entrepreneurs and businesses have the talent, drive and innovation that Canada needs right now. With this PacifiCan investment, Canada Connects will give them a real pathway to new customers, new partners, and new revenue in markets across the country.”

This initiative comes at an exciting time, with increased focus on strengthening Canada’s internal trade and building a more resilient, connected economy. Paired with efforts like the Domestic Trade Commissioners Network, Canada Connects is helping turn a national vision into real opportunities by supporting local businesses, creating jobs, and strengthening connections from coast to coast.

Stay tuned from more updates as the World Trade Centre Vancouver team brings Canada Connects to life in the months ahead.
