WTC Savannah hosts program on globalization

Feb 19, 2015

SAVANNAH, GA, USA – On February 10, World Trade Center Savannah hosted a global education program, “Globalization: The Importance of Looking Globally for Economic Opportunities.” The program highlighted the importance of international business in economic development and the benefits of pursuing global strategies.

Craig Lesser, former Commissioner of Economic Development for the State of Georgia, led the seminar, which presented the practical realities of doing business on a global stage and how WTC Savannah can help businesses achieve their international business goals.

The program, presented from both a private company perspective as well as from a local government standpoint, started with a modern history of international commerce in Georgia followed by the long-term economic benefits of engaging in business at the international level. The program then focused on protecting against global market fluctuations and succeeding in the global marketplace by identifying target markets through strategic analysis and building long-term relationships. The program concluded with a summary of WTC Savannah’s mission and strategy: to create jobs and attract investment on an international level by helping regional businesses with their global strategies and by attracting foreign direct investment to the region.
