WTC Pune activates International Trade & Training

PUNE, INDIA - WTC Pune recently conducted workshop on Authorised Economic Operator (AEO) concept and benefits in association with K-PAC Mumbai. Mr. Santosh Kumar Vatsa - Jt. Commissioner of Customs, Pune was Chief Guest.He highlighted the salient features of this Ease of Business initiative of the Government of India. It promises to be a game changer for international trade - moving Indian Customs from a regulator to facilitator role.

AEO Workshop for International Trade was conducted by trainer from K-PAC - Mr. Girish Nadkarni - a veteran Customs IRS officer of 1980 batch. Mr. Nadkarni clarified the nuances of AEO Scheme and its global acceptance and implementation.

Mr. Vinod Sharma President and Mr. Pradeep Kale, VP of Pune Customs House Agents Association - MoU partners of WTC Pune participated with other members. Mr. Dushyant Mulani and Mr. T. K. Biswas addressed the workshop. Pune corporates including all constituents of international trade.

Participants included senior officials from Indian Customs - Pune, K-PAC and industry thought leaders from corporates like Abhishan Logistics, Abhi Impact Logistics, Avignon Shipping, Bekaert Industries, Benteler Automotive India, Best Agency, Bilcare, Bosch Chassis Systems India, Burckhardt Compression, C H Robinson, Cummins, DelVal Flow Controls, Ernst & Young, Force Motors, Gaikwad Enterprises, Halyard Healthcare, Honeywell Turbo Technologies, Indexnine Software, International Supply Chain Education Alliance, Jabil Circuits, Jayahind Industries, Khimji Poonja Freight Forwarders, LG Electronics India, Maccaferri India, Mykrafts.com, Olive Tree Trading, Poonawalla Group Companies - Serum Institute, Premium Transmission, Reliance Industries,Mumbai, Samsara Group, Serum Institute, Temgire Consultancy Services, Tetra Pak Group and Thyssenkrupp Industries India. 

Mr. Sam Tandon, VP, World Trade Center Atlanta- International Trade Services visited WTC Pune to explore mutual opportunities with WTC Pune.

Team WTC Pune met The Rt. Hon Liam Fox, MP Secretary of State for International Trade and the visiting delegation of UK Companies at a dinner reception. Mr. Sagar Chordia, Director WTC Pune also interacted with Mr. Kumar Iyer British Deputy High Commissioner & Director General, Department for International Trade in India.

The high level delegation – part of British Prime Minister Theresa May visited India on a three-day trade mission to New Delhi and Bengaluru. Under the umbrella of India-UK Technology Summit, four other summits were organised — on Higher Education, Innovation & Entrepreneurship, Design and Intellectual Property Rights.

WTC Pune signed Reciprocity Agreement with WTC Navi Mumbai for mutual trade and event opportunities.
