WTC Noida supports women entrepreneurship

Apr 04, 2018

India is witnessing increasing visibility of women in public spheres with economic contribution in the different sectors. The country has successful women entrepreneurs and CEOs of large corporations who serve as role models for exemplary and ethical work.

Although, India’s ease of doing business ranking has improved significantly from 130th in 2017 to 100th in 2018, however, on the gender equity front, India experienced a decline in its overall Global Gender Gap Index ranking by slipping 21 places on the index to 108, behind neighbours China and Bangladesh primarily due to less participation of women in the economy and low wages.

In line with the improvement in the Ease of Doing Business, emergent action is required to achieve parity in economic opportunity and participation by improving the ease of doing work for women at work place.

At this backdrop, PHD Chamber of Commerce & Industry organized a Seminar on “Ease of Doing Work for Women” & released a report on 8th March 2018, at PHD House, New Delhi. World Trade Center Noida through its services arm VERBIND participated in the event and Ms. Khair Ull Nissa Sheikh the Executive Director was a distinguished speaker. Ms. Khair stressed on the fact that Entrepreneurship and trade is the most potent instrument for empowerment of women and World Trade Center Noida with its array of services and Global network will work actively towards transformation of the society.

Economic empowerment through entrepreneurship will open new vistas for growth and development. World Trade Center Noida through its various collaborations and network will provide access to money, market and mentorship to the budding entrepreneurs and bringing prosperity through trade.
