Aug 24, 2016

LAS VEGAS, NV, USA - The WTC Las Vegas prides itself on providing a one-of-a-kind platform for international partners, manufacturers, and distributors to come together and establish direct relationships with foreign business partners.

The value of face-to-face meetings is immeasurable when it comes to creating meaningful relationships amongst agencies across the globe. On August 9, WTC Las Vegas representatives had the opportunity to further explore international opportunities during a meeting with Jessica Baio Freire, Head of Communications and International Services of the World Trade Center Santiago, Chile.

The WTC Las Vegas reached out to Ms. Freire in advance of a Trade Show Trade Mission that was planned by the Las Vegas Convention and Visitors Authority (LVCVA) in conjunction with U.S. Commercial Services. The trade mission, taking place August 7-13 in Santiago, Chile and Buenos Aires, Argentina, represents an opportunity for Las Vegas to promote participation and attendance at Las Vegas-based trade shows.

LVCVA representatives including Chris Meyer, Vice President of Global Business Sales; Jim McMichael, Specialty Markets Manager and Amanda Arentsen, Communications Manager, met with Ms. Freire to discuss growth opportunities specific to each region.

Looking ahead, WTC Las Vegas and WTC Santiago are exploring opportunities to partner on ongoing business endeavors. As home to nearly 22,000 meetings and conventions annually, Las Vegas provides a wide range of opportunities for networking across a number of industries. WTC Santiago plans to send representatives to Las Vegas in April 2017, when Las Vegas hosts the World Trade Center Association’s General Assembly. August’s meeting between WTC Las Vegas and WTC Santiago represents a strong example of the collaboration and learning benefits created through the wide-reaching WTCA network.
