WTC Las Vegas Celebrates West Hall Expansion

Dec 31, 2020

The Las Vegas Convention Center (LVCC), which is also the World Trade Center Las Vegas (WTCLV), is celebrating a major milestone with the completion of the West Hall expansion and the Convention Center Loop. The expansion, which began construction in September 2018, was awarded its temporary certificate of occupancy in mid-December and will be ready to welcome guests as soon as the time is right in 2021.

The 1.4 million-square-foot addition to the LVCC/WTCLV facility will include 600,000 square feet of leasable exhibit space, which includes 328,000 square feet of column-free space. The new hall will also feature 80 meeting rooms encompassing 150,000 square feet of meeting space (meeting rooms can accommodate seating capacities of 20 to 2,500) as well as a 14,0000-square-foot terrace able to accommodate up to 2,000, and a grand atrium.

The new West Hall brings the total LVCC/WTCLV building to 4.6 million square feet, including 2.5 million square feet of leasable exhibit space and more than 390,000 square feet of meetings space. The debut of the West Hall along with other meeting space additions this year, including CAESARS FORUM and the expansion of Wynn Las Vegas’ convention space brings the Las Vegas destination to a total of 13.8 million square feet of existing events space, with more than 1 million square feet of future space expected to open in the next couple of years.

In addition to the West Hall, the innovative underground transportation system by Elon Musk’s The Boring Company, the Convention Center Loop, is also expected to be finished this month. The Convention Center Loop system will stretch from the southeast end of the LVCC/WTCLV’s 200-acre campus to the new West Hall located on the northwest corner. The system includes three stations allowing convention attendees to be whisked across the sprawling campus in under two minutes in all-electric Tesla vehicles.

Las Vegas and the LVCC/WTCLV are prepared to welcome business visitors back to Meet Smart when the time is right. For more information, please visit VegasMeansBusiness.com.
