WTC Jaipur champions a National Movement with MSME

WTC Jaipur joined hands with MSME Jaipur, Petroleum Conservation Research Association (PCRA) and Jaipur Embroidery Textile Association to brainstorm and recommend solutions to address the arising needs of industrial waste management and pollution caused from manufacturing activities at Sudarshanpura Industrial Area, 22nd Godam area on 31st December 2019.

The event also commemorated a cleanliness drive to further the cause of a national movement “Swachh Bharat Mission” initiated by Honourable PM, Mr. Narendra Modi on 2nd October 2014 and mark the “150 years of celebrating the Mahatma”. The drive also involved interacting with production managers of many manufacturing units in Sudarshanpura Industrial Area, 22nd Godam area.

Mr. Deepak Gupta , Regional Head, Petroleum Conservation Research Association (PCRA), Jaipur explained to the team of Stitch India Impex, a prestigious manufacturing unit in the industrial area the very objective of “Swachh Bharat Mission” “The Swachh Bharat Mission aims for universal sanitation coverage and achieving better levels of cleanliness through solid and liquid waste management practices. It also aims to clean up the streets, roads, and public places. These measures are an absolute necessity to improve the health condition of people. Good health of her citizens is a key development factor for a nation’s growth. People can more robustly participate in economic activities and lead a better life. The mission also aims to create awareness among the masses on the interrelationship between hygiene and health. The estimated cost of the project is over Rs. 620 billion. The central and state governments of India and the World Bank are jointly funding for the project. The corporate companies also take part in the form of CSR activities. Many non-profit organizations are taking part in the project and doing a great job.”

Mr. M.K.Meena, Dy. Director, MSME Jaipur said that “SBM Urban targets urban areas, which are expected to be home to 660 million Indians by 2050. As of 2016, India had 33% of the total population living in urban areas. The population of urban India is expected to increase to 600 million by 2031 and with increasing population migrating from rural to urban areas, urban India will also need focused attention. Thus, to provide better sanitation and waste management facilities in the urban scenario, this mission has been brought in. The Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs launched the annual Swachh Survekshan Survey for rating of 73 cities in January 2016. In 2018, the scope of the coverage has increased to 4,203 cities including 61 Cantonment Boards.”
