Earth hour was observed at WTC Chennai campus by switching off the non-emergency lights from 8.30 pm to 9.30 pm. The event was done in association with WWF India. Earth Hour is commemorated yearly to analyze and stress on the impact of energy conservation, reduction of carbon footprint and protection of the environment.
A 14.3 % drop in the energy readings was observed with the activity. The WTC staff took a pledge related to Earth hour, planted saplings in the campus and conducted clean-up activities in neighbouring public parks.
