WTC Bhubaneswar Industry Interface for Start ups

World Trade Centre Bhubaneswar extended active support as Industry Interface partners to the National Start-up week organized by Sri Sri University, Cuttack from 15-22 February 2018. The event witnessed a wide range of workshops on Agriculture, Intellectual Property Rights, Social Entrepreneurship, Women Entrepreneurship, Business Plan preparation and mentoring sessions for Start – ups. The seven day programme was conceptualized and crafted specifically for entrepreneurs to obtain relevant and high impact information pertaining to their domains.
Mr. Prafulla Samal, Hon’ble Cabinet Minister of Micro, Small & Medium Enterprises, Social Security and Empowerment of Persons with Disabilities, Women & Child Development Department Government of Odisha while inaugurating the Start-up week highlighted the importance of good education in the development of society. He congratulated the organizers for giving a boost to budding entrepreneurs from the grass root level. “If you can do a small part of what is expected of you by the society, you will be able to transform, your nation and the world” said Mr. Samal.
Mr. L.N Gupta I.A.S, Additional Chief Secretary, Department of MSME, Government of Odisha highlighted the objective behind the introduction of boot camps in the Start-up India- Odisha Yatra programme. He also stated that this programme aims at sensitising Tier 2, Tier 3 towns about the start-up ecosystem and encourage the aspiring entrepreneurs and youth to set up their ventures in the state. “We should think big. We should dream big because life is too short to think and dream small.” said Shri. L.N. Gupta.
Dr. Nand Lal, the Vice Chancellor of Sri Sri University, deliberated on the opportunities and challenges faced by the youth of the country who wish to pursue a different path of Entrepreneurship. He motivated and wished luck to the participants and students by quoting “There is tremendous amount of craftsmanship between a great idea and a great product”.
Prof. (Dr). P. Srinivas Subbarao, Dean, Sri Sri University, highlighted the important role played by the Government of Odisha to promote Entrepreneurship. He also mentioned that already 220 students had pitched their ideas for the Start-up India Odisha Yatra boot camp which is a part of the National Start-up Week programme.
More than 400 ideas were pitched by the aspiring students from which the foremost ideas were selected for an extreme acceleration programme. The selected ideas won cash prizes and recognition.
