Jun 05, 2025

PITTSBURGH, PA — The World Trade Center of Pittsburgh celebrates its 35 anniversary this year as it begins an exciting new chapter in its history. Now operating as part of the EMSDC network, WTCPGH merges its three decades of global trade expertise with EMSDC’s 53 years of supply chain development experience throughout the region.

Since its founding in 1990, WTCPGH has served as a cornerstone of International business growth in Allegheny County, fulfilling its mission to help local companies collaborate regionally, connect strategically and compete globally. Through its network of 320+ World Trade Centers worldwide, WTCPGH has provided Pittsburgh business with unparalleled access to International markets, trade resources and growth opportunities.

“Trade matters; not just for individual businesses, but for our entire regional economy,” said Brian K. Oglesby, President of WTCPGH and President/CEO of EMSDC. “This strategic alignment positions Pittsburgh’s business community for even greater success on the global stage while maintaining our deep local roots.”

The newly integrated organization looks towards the future, focused on bridging global markets with regional economic development and empowering local businesses to expand beyond traditional borders. A special kickoff reception will debut EMSDC’s stewardship of the WTCPGH license, convening regional leaders to mark this strategic evolution. Businesses can gain visibility by securing event sponsorships starting at $2,000.
