Workshop: Risk management in International Trade

Jun 03, 2025

On Thursday, May 22, 2025, a workshop organized by the World Trade Center Rennes Bretagne, in partnership with Banque Populaire Grand Ouest, was held at the new city-center premises of WTC Rennes Bretagne. The event brought together members and partners to discuss a timely and strategic topic: the impact of Donald Trump’s return to the U.S. presidency on global economic dynamics.

The session opened with a welcome address by the WTC Rennes Bretagne team and its partners, setting the stage for a rich exchange on the tools and strategies for optimizing and managing international risks in an evolving geopolitical landscape.

A heartfelt thank-you to our speakers:

  • Samuel Urvoy, CEO of Emeraude Trade Finance, provided a sharp analysis of risk mitigation strategies in international operations and offered guidance on managing financial risks proactively in a volatile environment.
  • Didier Guitton, Forex and Treasury Management Specialist at Banque Populaire Grand Ouest, shared practical insights for optimizing currency operations and adapting to market volatility, especially within the framework of transatlantic relations.

The workshop concluded with an informal networking session, allowing participants to continue the conversation on current economic and geopolitical challenges while fostering stronger connections among key players in international trade.

We warmly thank all our speakers, our partner Banque Populaire Grand Ouest, and all participants for their active involvement and the quality of the discussions.
