Workshop on “Digital Marketing”

World Trade Center Bhubaneswar in association with Center for Agri Management, Utkal University organized a workshop on “Digital Marketing”. The workshop focused on providing insights on strategic management and implementation of digital marketing, use of technology for marketing and development of digital platforms are now incorporated into the modern day business models. The workshop was facilitated by Mr Anand Mishra, Founder & CEO of GROZIP.COM and Prof. Surya Mishra, Assistant Professor, KIIT School of Management, Bhubaneswar. 

Mr Anand Mishra, in his deliverable spoke about the journey of GROZIP as a technology- based start-up which serves as an online platform for delivering grocery items there by facilitating B2B and B2C linkages in tier 2 and tier 3 cities of Odisha. While sharing about the vision of the company he outlined the advantages and barriers faced by him during his stint. He highlighted the changing pattern in consumer behavior and access to internet which is a major reason for the massive and successful growth of digital platforms. He also discussed about his business model and the value propositions he shares with his customers. He further shared his experience of being mentored by Mr Jack Ma, the Co-founder of Alibaba Group as in a rare feat, he from India had made it to the prestigious eFounders Fellowship, a program jointly organised by the Alibaba Business School and the United Nations Conference on Trade and Development UNCTAD.

Prof Surya Mishra, Assistant Professor, KIIT School of Management spoke about the importance of social media in the business promotions & how well a business and its brand can market their products to gain as well as retain a constant consumer connect and gain preferences. Prof Mishra educated the participants about how to develop a curated content by quoting “Content is king” He further though case studies explained how an appropriate content can fuel and drive the digital marketing activities.

Mr Jatinder Mishra, Course Head, Centre for Agri – Business Management, Utkal University, in his address highlighted how with the advancement of technology & in the era of smartphones the market is getting global & how consumers are becoming more informed and have an access to everything over a click. “Brands & business are extensively using technology and digital platforms are proving to be the most effective marketing tool” he said. 

Ms Nimeshika Natarajan, Assistant Director, World Trade Centre Bhubaneswar in her address welcomed the facilitators and participants to the workshop. Deliberating on the objective of the workshop she highlighted how the new age marketing has witnessed drastic changes in its techniques and approaches. “Channels such as social media, mobile applications, email, web applications, search engines, websites, or any new digital channel have taken the edge over the traditional practices of marketing and made it highly essential to have a technical understanding of the subject” she said. 

Prof. N. Bhuyan, Advisor, Centre for Agri Management, Utkal University proposed the vote of thanks.
