Value-added Production is Key to Nashik MSMEs

World Trade Centre Mumbai organised its 2nd edition of World Trade Day Maharashtra in Nashik on the theme ‘Enhancing Export Opportunities for MSMEs’ in association with Maharashtra Industry Trade and Investment Facilitation Cell (MAITRI) and Nashik Industries Manufacturers' Association (NIMA) on June 18, 2018 at NIMA’s Seminar Hall. It was part of the Centre’s week-long World Trade Day programme organised in different districts in Maharashtra.

“Germany specifically is India’s most important EU trade partner” says Dr. Jürgen Morhard, Consul General, German Consulate General Mumbai who was the Chief Guest of the event. He mentioned “Germany and India shared good relations. India is Germany’s 25th most important trade partner, ranking 28th in the area of imports and 27th for exports.

Dr. Morhard also added “In 2000, two countries took a decisive step towards greater bilateral cooperation by signing the Agenda for Indo–German Partnership in the 21st century.

Mr. Ganesh Kothawade, Vice President – Distribution Solutions, ABB India Ltd. said, “We have conventional products, but traditional manufacturing results in complex processes. It is necessary to change as per the market needs. Change is possible through new ideas, innovation and new solution”.

Mr. Rajat Kumar Srivastava, Regional Manager, EEPC India urged MSMEs in Nashik to explore business opportunities in Philippines. With regard to Philippines, India’s engineering export to the country has grown exponentially and invited Indian companies to participate in INDEE Philippines.

He further added that it is important to give a better environment to all the budding ideas and talent which majorly comes from SME sector.

Mr. Nitin Mundaware, Regional Manager, Maharashtra Tourism Development Corporation (MTDC) Nashik said that MTDC has launched various schemes which will provide a wide network of affordable accommodation at lesser known places of tourist interest, thus creating memorable experiences. There are other schemes which are designed to encourage people from various sectors to showcase their products and services, providing unique experiences to tourists.

Mr. Mundaware added, “MTDC will soon launch wellness centers for healing which will further boost tourism in Nashik. These centers will have the best healing and wellness facilities.”

Mr. Shrikant Bachchav, Hon. General Secretary, Nashik Industries Manufacturers' Association (NIMA) helped facilitate the event.
