World Trade Center Mumbai organized an interactive meeting with H.E. Ms. Sena Latif, Ambassador of Romania to India, in collaboration with the All India Association of Industries (AIAI). Ms. Latif highlighted the importance of strengthening commercial ties between India and Romania, emphasizing the untapped potential in bilateral trade and collaboration in sectors such as IT, energy, manufacturing, agriculture, and logistics. She invited Indian companies to partner with Romanian counterparts in Cluj-Napoca, Romania’s IT hub, and leverage Romania’s strategic location as a gateway to Europe.
The Ambassador noted significant opportunities in education, film production, shipbuilding, and textiles while showcasing Romania's agricultural and beverage industries, including its position as the sixth-largest wine producer in Europe. She expressed optimism about the proposed India-EU free trade agreement and committed to facilitating business connections in key sectors.
Capt. Somesh Batra, Vice Chairman, WTC Mumbai, underlined the 75 years of diplomatic relations between the two nations and encouraged Romanian companies to invest in India.
Ms. Rupa Naik, Executive Director, WTC Mumbai, while giving the vote of thanks, highlighted the strong interest of Indian MSMEs in the Romanian market and urged participation in upcoming trade fairs in Romania.
The event witnessed participation from various industries, reflecting the growing momentum for Indo-Romanian collaboration.
