Space Tech & Food Tech: New for CES 2022

Jul 16, 2021

The Consumer Technology Association (CTA)®, licensee for the World Trade Center Las Vegas, announced that CES® 2022, the world’s most influential technology event, will introduce two new categories for the show – space tech and food tech. Exhibitors will showcase innovations driving these industries and leaders will speak to the advancements and the global impact of these evolving sectors. CES heads back to Las Vegas January 5-8, 2022.

CES is where business gets done – and in 2022, that means the opportunity to meet partners, customers, media and policymakers face to face. According to Harvard Business Review, 95 percent of people say face-to-face meetings are critical to successfully building and maintaining business relationships.

“Every year, CES showcases the latest innovations from legacy and emerging technology sectors – and everything in between,” said Karen Chupka, EVP, CES, CTA. “Technology is propelling the space and food industries to new heights and CES is the perfect platform to showcase this growth and bring together our industry.”

Technology is advancing opportunities for space exploration and space living conditions. These advancements are creating new communications services and opening opportunities for new applications in biology, human health and more. Sierra Space, a subsidiary of the Sierra Nevada Corporation, will showcase their latest innovations in space transportation – the Dream Chaser® spaceplane.

Advancements in food technology will also be on display in Las Vegas. The category will address agriculture, ingredient innovation, meal kits and deliveries, nutrition, plant-based proteins, traceability, sustainability, vertical farming and more. Grov Technologies, Impossible Foods and John Deere will be returning exhibitors.

In the coming months, CTA will make additional announcements on thought leadership and new programs for CES 2022. CTA will also share what global audiences can expect from other facets of the consumer technology industry, including AI, AR/VR, XR/metaverse, gaming and computing, home entertainment, smart home and more.

Owned and produced by CTA, CES 2022 will convene the tech industry in-person and digitally, giving a global audience access to major brands and startups, as well as the world’s most-influential leaders and industry advocates. For over 50 years, CES has been the global stage for innovation, and CES 2022 will provide an opportunity for companies from around the world, both large and small, to launch products, build brands and form partnerships.
