Savannah in top 10 for economic projects in U.S.

Site Selection magazine has ranked Savannah at No. 9 for economic projects across the country. The ranking is in the March issue of the magazine that is designed for business expansion planning decision-makers. The rankings are based on number of projects and are for 2018. Savannah received the ranking in the category for metropolitan areas with a population of 200,000 to one million with 23 projects. In the South Atlantic region category, Savannah is also ranked ninth, with Atlanta-Sandy Springs-Roswell number one with 161 projects. Charleston, S.C. and Richmond, Va. tied for 10th place. The state of Georgia was also recognized, earning a number four spot nationwide in number of projects with 300. In the South Atlantic region, Georgia is number one with North Carolina, Virginia, Florida and South Carolina rounding out the top five. The projects to be considered had to have a minimum $1 million investment, create at least 20 jobs and have space of at least 20,000 square feet.
