SAN Hosts Memorial Day Concert for Veterans

SAN Honors Military Service and Sacrifice with Live Memorial Day Concert Featuring Local Veterans

WHAT:               Travelers passing through San Diego International Airport (SAN) ahead of Memorial Day weekend will experience a special live musical performance honoring the service and sacrifice of military members. The concert will feature local veterans performing on saxophone, guitar, and drums in a moving tribute through music.

The performance is presented in partnership with Resounding Joy, a San Diego-based nonprofit that has delivered music therapy and engagement programs for more than 20 years. The musicians are part of Resounding Joy’s Sounds of Service program, which supports active-duty military and veterans in navigating physical and emotional challenges through music.

The Sounds of Service band performs together regularly and will make a rare appearance at SAN to commemorate Memorial Day and engage travelers in reflection and remembrance through music.

The concert is part of SAN’s on-going performing arts program and concert series and marks the start of the busy summer travel season, when approximately 80,000 travelers pass through the airport each day. This performance is part of SAN’s commitment to creating a welcoming and engaging experience for the traveling public.
