MISSOULA, MT, USA - Montana World Trade Center (MWTC) provided a Regulated Export Training in June for nearly 20 attendees, providing training on export control, exceptions and exemptions, due diligence, and implementing an export control program. The training also included one-on-one meetings between Montana companies and an expert on regulated export training. Attendees ranged from Montana Department of Commerce to companies that produce cell culture supplements. MWTC looks forward to coordinating additional trainings.

MWTC staff also attended June’s BIO International Convention—which attracts more than 15,000 biotech and pharma leaders for five days of intensive networking—and assisted in connecting Montana and Israeli firms in attendance. MWTC worked with partners such as the Montana BioScience Alliance, Governor’s Office of Economic Development, the Israeli Economic Mission, and BIRD Foundation to assist in making international connections and maximizing time spent networking during the convention. MWTC also escorted a 10-membered Montana delegation to an Israeli event hosted by the Israeli Economic Mission, which included 20 Israeli companies in attendance. BIO provided an important venue to pursue targeted foreign direct investment opportunities for Montana, as well as opportunities to develop collaborative R&D partnerships potentially eligible for BIRD Foundation funding.

MWTC staff also attended SelectUSA Investment Summit in Washington D.C. The Summit promotes foreign direct investment in the United States and brings together companies and economic development organizations from all over the world. This year’s keynote speaker was President Barack Obama.
