MODERN RAILWAYS 2025 & The 12th World Congress on High-Speed Rail kicks off in full swing.

The Asian railway industry event - MODERN RAILWAYS 2025, is scheduled to be grandly held from July 8th to 10th, 2025 at the China National Convention Center and the National Railway Test Center in Beijing, China. The 12th World Congress on High-Speed Rail will also be held concurrently.

ABOUT MODERN RAILWAYS 

MODERN RAILWAYS is held every 2 years and it has been successfully convened for 16 times since its first edition in 1992. Now it is renowned worldwide as the most prominent and a large-scale international railway industry exhibition jointly organized by the China Academy of Railway Sciences Co., Ltd. and the China World Trade Center Co., Ltd. with the approval and full support of the China State Railway Group Co., Ltd. It is the most renowned and largest railway industry exhibition in Asia with significant international influence and is also the preferred rail transit exhibition for domestic and foreign exhibitors in China. The 17th MODERN RAILWAYS will focus on the hot topics, development trends, advanced technologies and equipment in the railway industry such as rolling stock, engineering works, communication and signaling, informatization/digitization and operation management, building an international exchange and cooperation platform for enterprises. Relying on six major advantages including authoritative industry status, strong brand influence, extensive social impact, high-quality platform resources, high-end international event and superior exhibition conditions, it aims to create an industry event to showcase the latest technologies and equipment.

This exhibition will display exhibits in different zones according to railway specialties, covering the latest technologies and products in various railway specialties. At the same time, it emphasizes the cluster effect, helping exhibitors and visitors to efficiently obtain more opportunities to communicate and negotiate with enterprises in the same field and in the upstream and downstream, enhancing the success rate of cooperation. During the exhibition, a variety of activities such as new technology release and signing ceremonies, railway culture popularization, fan meet-ups and technical visits will also be held to further improve the exhibition experience of exhibitors and visitors. At the 16th China International Exhibition on Modern Railway Technology & Equipment, nearly 400 enterprises from 15 countries and regions including China, the United States, Japan, Austria, Germany, Canada, Switzerland, Italy, the United Kingdom and Hong Kong, China brought their latest technologies and products to participate. The on-site visitors came from 28 countries and regions, with a total number of 60,000 person-times.

ABOUT World Congress on High-Speed Rail

The 12th Congress, hosted by CR and UIC and organised by China Academy of Railway Sciences Corporation Limited (CARS), will be held from July 8 to July 11, 2025 in Beijing. This will be the second time for the congress to be held in China, which demonstrates not only the significant achievements of China Railway and its far-reaching influence on international railways, but also the close attention of the world to HSR development in China.

Participants will include representatives from international railway organisations, government officials, executives of world-leading railway enterprises, senior HSR experts and managers, researchers and scholars, etc. The Congress will review and look at the current development of global HSRs, exhibit the latest state-of-the-art HSR technologies and form a vision on HSRs tomorrow. It will also provide a platform for dialogues and exchanges of HSR countries and set the direction for future HSR research and development, which will exert profound influence on the future of HSRs.

The Congress will be organised around 3 main blocks: plenary sessions, round tables, and parallel sessions, where participants may have in-depth discussion and exchanges on the latest technologies and achievements of HSR planning, construction, technology & equipment, operation management and safety, etc. Meanwhile, MODERN RAILWAYS 2025 will be held in parallel.
