Launching Ceremony for WTC Binh Duong New City
BINH DUONG, 23 NOVEMBER 2019 - The Launching and Signing Ceremony for the Development of the World Trade Center Binh Duong New City (WTC BDNC), hosted by Binh Duong People’s Committee, is held at Becamex New City Hotel, on Hung Vuong Street, by Becamex IDC.
The ceremony is to introduce the new project of Becamex IDC to develop the World Trade Center complex in the heart of Binh Duong New City. The complex consists of facilities to promote international trade activities and is aiming to becoming a diverse and professional service center in the region.
I. A new destination for all
Becamex IDC has studied and proposed to Binh Duong People’s Committee the project of the World Trade Center complex, with the objective of increasing the proportion of service industries in the province’s economy, in line with five main initiatives in Breakthrough Program for the period of 2016-2020, which are: improving the quality of human resources, modern urban planning, developing professional services, mobilizing internal and external resources, to develop Binh Duong brand to international level. The proposal is a part of the overall plan of the Smart City Development in accordance with Decision 3206 QĐ/UBND dated 21 November 2016.
President of the Binh Duong People’s Committee, Mr. Tran Thanh Lien, during the meeting with Becamex on the project, said the Committee expects the World Trade Center Binh Duong New City is more than just a building, it is a service complex, attracting international commerce activities into the southeastern region.
After the first phase of simultaneous development of technical and social infrastructure, Binh Duong New City continues into a new development period. With projects that are focusing on in depth development, Becamex IDC has joined hands with investors to research and build the prototypes of housing, commercial and multi purposes facilities, which not only provide utility and convenience, but also offer uniqueness and aestheticity.
The World Trade Center Binh Duong New City, being one of the key projects in this next phase, with a strategic location at the inteserction of many avenues from the cities, will take the critical role for connectivity of the project.
The World Trade Center is a significant component in the overall planning, creating a modern and dynamic urban structure and the city’s image. It is a multi purpose complex, offering a wide range of services and facilities on the area of 70,000 m2. This is an ideal destination for commercial, cultural, and communial activities both day and night.
The central square is surrounded by functional facilities, where there is an eye pleasing green oasis, including parks, lawns and water covered areas which are accessible through covered pathways.
The central commercial area is a one basement four story building, with a total floor of 45,000 m2. Many facilities such as movie theatres, concert hall, food court, walking street and a convention hall are made available to all residents.
The multi use sports center can accommodate 4,000 seats, suitable for sports such as mini football, volleyball, tennis, badminton, as well as entertainment, concerts and other cultural events.
Public transportation and personal vehicles are arranged along the roundabout. Entrances and exits are monitored and controlled to avoid affecting the city’s transportation. All building have pickup/drop off points for buses, taxies and personal vehicles.
The highrise parking space can accommodate 600 cars and is in adjacent to the multi-use complex in a harmonious combination. The parking lots are easily accessable in walking distance to other functional areas.
The central metro station stands at the center of the roundabout, which is a terminal on the Binh Duong – Suoi Tien line, an important interchange of the city’s public transportation. There are other add on services and facilities in the metro station, which are commercial areas, shops, supermarkets, cultural and art space.
Next to the central park adjacent to the Central Administration Building and central roundabout is functional facilities, including office buildings, hotels, convention center, indoor and outdoor exhibition center catering to the increasing demand of commercial and trading between businesses. The surrounding areas are for modern residential areas, welcoming new citizens to the city.
With people-focused designed, every family will be able to enjoy all services and facilities in walking distance, under the covered corridor or shade from trees. Pavements for pedestrians will be separated with vehicles via the underground system or overhead bridge for safety.
II. Foster international commercial service development
WTC BDNC will play a critical role in supporting international trade service activities in Binh Duong and neighboring provinces, by mobilizing both international and domestic resources for building facilities and trade services such as the international convention center, office buildings, shopping centers, hotel and restaurants, and entertainment center. The international trade services in offer are international trade shows, conferences, business matching, and business visit, information center and trade training center.
Before becoming a member of World Trade Center Association, Becamex IDC had been studying and researching the development models in the USA, Korea and other countries. Furthermore, Becamex IDC has ensured the feasibility of the project, in terms of human and finance resources by training and developing human capital needed for the construction and the trade service industries in Binh Duong and surrounding areas.
WTC BDNC has been and is receiving a tremendous support from partners both locally and internationally, such as World Trade Center Seoul, COEX – the biggest trade show operator in Korea, Hong Kong Trade Development Council (HKTDC), with 56 years of experience developing international exhibitions, conferences and tradeshows, Vietnam Chamber of Commerce and Industry (VCCI), who have been generously sharing with Becamex IDC experience in planning and developing international trade services. These organizations and Becamex IDC signed the strategic partnership agreement for the development of the WTC BDNW with the vision of becoming an international destination for trade. WTC BDNC, on another hand, can become a bridge for our partners from Hong Kong and Korea to approach to businesses in the industrial area in Binh Duong and neighboring provices, which is in line with their South East Asia focusd strategies. As for VCCI, since its mission is to support domestic as well as foreign businesses, joining hands with WTC BDNC creates a new opportunity to further promote capacity building activities for SMEs, and local manufacturers, strengthening the connection with Binh Duong trade delegates in the future.
Furthermore, the signing of the strategic partnership agreement is a significant milestone for preparing WTC BDNC action plan for 2020, including trade services development from early 2020.
Besides, WTC BDNC has been supported by partners in Germany, Holland, who are looking to develop trade services in Binh Duong in the future, most importantly building the capacity for companies exporting their products to Europe, and enhancing human connection between cities in Europe and Binh Duong.
