WTC Navi Mumbai in cooperation with Bombay Industries Association (BIA) organized a seminar on "IPO Ecosystem in India" on May 20, 2026 at the WTC Navi Mumbai office. The session aimed to explore opportunities, challenges, procedural aspects, government policies, compliance requirements, and governance frameworks.
The session held significant importance as it also marked WTC’s strengthened commitment towards the internationalization and economic development of the Navi Mumbai region through the signing of a MoU between WTC and BIA, aimed at fostering greater collaboration, business growth, and global opportunities.
The Session began with welcome address by Mr. Jayant Ghate, Advisor WTC Navi Mumbai. He gave insights about WTCA, its WTC network and shed light upon the different services provided by WTC Navi Mumbai. He expressed that although present global situation was not conducive, it was an ideal time for preparation of IPO in India. Followed by Mr. Rajesh Doshi and Mr. R.K Jain from BIA also expressed satisfaction for signing of MoU between BIA and WTC and gave insights about BIA.
The seminar featured several distinguished guest speakers who are experts and industry practitioners. They made detailed presentations sharing their valuable insights and practical knowledge of various aspects of the theme.
Mr. Abhay Bajaj from the National Stock Exchange highlighted the NSE Emerge platform and its role in helping SMEs raise capital and accelerate growth. He shared key insights on listed companies, fund-raising trends, capital raised, market capitalization, and briefly explained the listing process, eligibility criteria, migration norms, and benefits of listing on the platform.
Mr. Deepak Sharma from Yes Bank spoke about financing and loan options available for businesses and highlighted key factors promoters should consider while approaching banks, including financial planning, documentation, credibility, and transparency. He also discussed opportunities offered by Yes Bank and the role of Yes Bank Securities Ltd. in providing capital market and financial solutions.
Mr. Nikunj Kanodia from Corpwis Advisors highlighted the concept of SME IPOs, their evolution, advantages, eligibility criteria, procedural aspects, and IPO readiness standards. He emphasized the importance of governance, compliance, scalability, and financial preparedness for building investor confidence and ensuring a successful IPO journey.
Ms. Divya Momaya of MentorMyBoard delivered an insightful presentation on corporate governance, leadership, and strategic transformation. She emphasized that well-governed businesses outperform through transparency, accountability, investor trust, and strong leadership.
The presentations were followed by a Q & A session and lively discussion. The Session was moderated by Mr. Jitendra Sakpal of Rise Business Solutions and Ms. Ananya Bhattacharya facilitated smooth coordination. Participants asked a number of questions and the guest speakers duly answered this by giving practical examples.
