Indonesian Trade Delegation Visits WTC Goa

A five member Trade Delegation led by Mr. Yadi Suriahadi, Consul (Economics).from the Consulate General of the Republic of Indonesia in Mumbai paid a visit to WTC Goa on 5th December 2019 .

The main objective of the visit was to meet and interact with Spa and wellness sectors in Goa with the aim to promote and understand the opportunity for Indonesian Spa and wellness sector for Indian market.

World Trade Center facilitated the Trade Delegation and arranged one to one on site meetings with some of the leading Spa and Wellness centres around Goa.

Further, Mr. Suriahadi, Consul (Economic Affairs) discussed with the officials of World Trade Center Goa on the major products they trade with India. Indonesian exports to India consist of Textiles, Electronic Goods, Foot-wear and sawn timber, while Indonesia imports from India include Chemicals, Pharmaceuticals, machines and motor vehicles. Tourism, he said, could also be one sector that has a huge potential for both Indonesia as well as for India.

Mr. Cyril Desouza, Assistant Director, Trade Promotion, World Trade Center Goa, apprised the Consul (Economics) and the other members of the visiting Trade Delegation, about the vibrant agricultural sector in Goa and its potential to grow selected herbs and plants that could be cost effective and could be widely used in the preparation of the products of the Spa and Wellness sectors in Indonesia. Mr. Desouza also apprised the Trade Delegation on the potential of the light engineering industry in Goa which could be of immense benefit to the Indonesian Industry.
