World Trade Center Mumbai, in collaboration with the All India Association of Industries (AIAI), hosted an interactive meeting with H.E. Mr. Robert Maxian, Ambassador of Slovakia to India.
During the event, Mr. Maxian highlighted Slovakia’s achievements in green hydrogen technology for heavy vehicles and expressed interest in partnering with India on similar initiatives. He noted that trade between Slovakia and India has doubled to €861 million and aims to reach €1 billion. Additionally, he encouraged collaboration in film production, defence, and the automotive sectors, and invited Indian companies to invest in Slovakia, highlighting its strategic location within the Schengen Area.
Dr. Vijay Kalantri, Chairman of WTC Mumbai and President of AIAI, emphasized Slovakia’s leadership in car production and its appeal as a hub for Indian auto-component manufacturers targeting the EU market. He advocated for fast-tracking an India-EU free trade agreement to enhance trade and investment.
Capt. Somesh Batra, Vice Chairman of WTC Mumbai, concluded with thanks, acknowledging Slovakia's potential to support India’s Make in India program.
The meeting saw attendance from senior officials and industry representatives.
