LUGANO, SWITZERLAND - The 24th annual assembly of the World Trade Center Lugano, which took place at Villa Principe Leopoldo Hotel (Lugano) on 13th October 2016, has been honored with two prestigious hosts, Mr. Christian Vitta, State Councillor and director of the Department of Finance and Economics in Canton Ticino, and Mr. Andreas Meyer, CEO of Swiss federal Railways (SBB AG), Switzerland's largest transport corporation.

Our guests held a debate about the new Gotthard Base Tunnel and the opportunities that it can offer to businesses, in Switzerland and EU markets.

At 57 kilometres, the Gotthard Base Tunnel is the longest train tunnel in the world.

The theme of this event, which is exceptionally topical, attracted a large number of WTC Lugano’s Association business members, so as Swiss and Italian prominent figures and journalists.

The audience had the opportunity to learn from the host's experiences, to share thoughts and questions raised in discussion with the interaction of Mr. Lino Terlizzi, journalist in economics and Vice-Director of the Corriere del Ticino, the regional daily newspaper in the Canton of Ticino.

As usual for WTC Lugano’s annual assembly, the event concluded with a cocktail reception, offering business members and guests the opportunity to strengthen new business relationships.
