The third edition of Envision 2025, organized by IIT Madras
Research Park (IITMRP) and the India Energy Storage Alliance (IESA) in
association with the Ministry of New and Renewable Energy (MNRE), concluded
successfully on February 1, 2025. As the Network Partner for this flagship
event, WTC Chennai is proud to have supported an inspiring platform that
brought together industry leaders, innovators, policymakers, and academics to
discuss and drive forward sustainable energy solutions for a net-zero future.
Held from January 30 to February 1, 2025, Envision 2025 featured
a comprehensive program with expert sessions, panel discussions, workshops, and
technology showcases under the theme “Ground Zero for Net-Zero”. The
event aimed to foster collaboration between local and global stakeholders,
combining grassroots innovations with advanced technological solutions to
combat the pressing climate crisis.

Keynote by Sonam Wangchuk: A special highlight of the
event was the exclusive dialogue with Sonam Wangchuk, renowned innovator
and climate activist, who shared his invaluable insights on sustainable development
and energy innovation. His message on the importance of community-driven
solutions resonated deeply with all attendees.

Discussions & Expert Sessions: Experts from diverse fields,
including Sudeep Jain (Additional Secretary, MNRE), Sudha Ramen (State
Planning Commission, Tamil Nadu), and Halima Hollan (British Deputy High
Commission, Tamil Nadu and Puducherry), offered their perspectives on the
current state of renewable energy, energy storage, and sustainable policy
frameworks.

Solutions Showcase: Leading companies and organizations like First Solar,
Ohmium, Indian Oil Corporation Limited, and JSW presented groundbreaking
innovations in renewable energy technologies. The event underscored the
importance of partnerships between academia, industry, and government to
scale sustainable solutions.

Cultural
Impact – Short Film Screening: The screening of a short film
centered around the effects of climate change on Pulicat Lake, featuring a
community-led cast alongside actors such as Adithi Balan and Charles
Vinoth, was a moving and thought-provoking addition to the event. It
demonstrated the direct impacts of climate change on communities and underscored
the urgency of collective action.
As the Network Partner, WTC Chennai played an instrumental role in
fostering cross-industry connections, providing a platform for dialogue, and
supporting the event's mission to drive forward the sustainability agenda. The
event provided WTC Chennai with a unique opportunity to showcase its commitment
to promoting sustainable business practices and driving collaboration in the
field of clean energy and technology.
